RIT Libraries Strategic Plan
Scholarship@RIT Newsletter
The Library proposes to create a periodic newsletter highlighting the various aspects of scholarly activity taking place at RIT, accentuating the status of a Category of One university.
Such a newsletter could include information on the Faculty Scholar Series, information about the RIT Digital Media Library, updates on copyright law, new publications from the Cary Graphic Arts Press, as well as information relating to scholarly activity on campus. Dissemination of this information, digitally and in print, could promote cross-disciplinary collaboration among scholars at RIT.
Some of the elements of the RIT Strategic Plan addressed by this goal include:
Goal C1: RIT will achieve an Institute-wide shared understanding of scholarship and its expectations entailing documentation, dissemination, and peer review.Goal C4: RIT will allocate resources to support scholarly activity, with particular attention to engaging students, adjusting workloads, and reducing barriers to cross-college collaboration in scholarship.
Objective C4.2: Dedicated research space and shared collaborative spaces [online] should be allocated for cross-disciplinary interaction and scholarly engagement by faculty, students and staff.
