RIT Libraries Strategic Plan
Customized Library Services
The Library proposes to use Directory Services data to present web-based information customized to the users' field of study. Such information would include new software, database changes, library training sessions, events, course reserves, new resources, etc. This will provide faculty and students with concise and targeted information relevant to their scholarly endeavors.
The Directory Services Project, led by ITS, has created a database of RIT user information that allows the library to identify a student’s level, classes, programs, and college. This information can be used to improve and enhance a student’s experience.
Some of the elements of the RIT Strategic Plan addressed by this goal include:
Goal E3: RIT will continue to improve communications campus-wide via multiple forms of media and channels.Goal B6: RIT students will have easy access to accurate and useful information regarding all aspects of the University experience.
