AVAILABLE SPACE:

One or both of the areas described below may be used for an exhibition.

SCHEDULING:
Click here to reserve gallery space and to arrange for a review of the work you plan to exhibit. Exhibitions are scheduled on a first-come-first-served basis and galleries are often booked several months in advance. Click here to see a list of exhibitions that have already been scheduled for each gallery. Exhibitors should plan to keep their work on view from four to six weeks.

Contact Kari Horowicz, Art and Photography Librarian, at kehwml@rit.edu or 475-7871 if you have any questions about scheduling the galleries or the library's exhibitions policies.

INSTALLATION:

Exhibitions may be installed and taken down at any time the library is open. The Art and Photography Librarian will provide the exhibitor with a letter of permission to borrow the display case keys from the RIT Library Circulation Desk. Works must be removed on the last day reserved for the exhibition. The exhibitor must provide all supplies and equipment required for presenting his/her exhibition.

INSURANCE:

The exhibitor acknowledges that he/she assumes all risk and liability for damage or loss to pieces on display in the library galleries. RIT assumes no liability for student exhibits. RIT strongly encourages exhibitors to maintain personal insurance to cover such exposure. The exhibitor must submit a list of the works included in his/her exhibition and their values the day the show is installed. The Art and Photography Librarian will provide forms requesting the following information for this purpose:

  1. Exhibitor's name, address, social security number, telephone number

  2. Title and dates of the exhibition

  3. Title, medium, approximate size, and value of each work in the exhibition PUBLICITY:

PUBLICITY:

If the exhibitor produces a poster or flyer to advertise his/her show, the library will reimburse him/her for expenses (duplication, supplies) up to twenty-five dollars ($25.00) if receipts are submitted to the Art and Photography Librarian. The library requires ten posters for distribution to other institutions. Exhibitors are responsible for distributing posters on the RIT campus. The Art and Photography Librarian prepares press releases for all exhibitions in the library galleries and distributes them to local newspapers and art-related publications.
