Personal
Assistance/Instruction Request Form
Have a paper or a research project to do and you don't know where
to start? There is someone who can help you. New or experienced
users can benefit from their assistance with research skills, and
how to use the library resources specific to your major/discipline.
They can also help you with forming useful Internet search strategies,
how to use research databases, or how to find appropriate print
sources.
"One
2 One" Live Reference Help
Do you have a reference question that you
can't answer? Members of the RIT community can use RIT Library's
Virtual Reference Desk called One
2 One. The Virtual Reference desk is an online chat service
offered in real time. You may pose questions of a general nature
to the library's online Reference Desk or if you have a question
a Subject Specialist can assist you with, the Reference Librarian/Bibliographer
for your college/major may be available online for chat.
When the Virtual Reference desk is unavailable you may use the
Library's electronic reference service to submit reference questions
electronically to the Library's reference staff. You will receive
an answer to your questions within 24 hours. (Sorry - no outside
users.) .
Faculty:
Schedule Library Instruction for Your Classes
Faculty can use this form to request library or computer technology
instruction for your classes. Students learn more from course-integrated
library and technology instruction that focuses on a topic for a
specific assignment, such as a graded essay or research paper. Instruction
may be in your own classroom or in the library's Bibliographic Laboratory
(Bib Lab), a
classroom equipped to provide students with hands-on experience.
