A DOCUMENT SOURCE ANALYSIS TOOL
TO DETECT PLAGIARISM IN THE DIGITAL AGE |
Plagiarism.org
offers a service they call Turnitin.com to assist educators and students concerned with the growing problem of plagiarism. This document source analysis service is now available to interested RIT faculty
(details below).
A quick blurb on what Turnitin.com
does....
Turnitin.com
uses proprietary software to 'finger-print' student papers and determine degrees
of originality then provide detailed originality reports to professors within
24 hours of upload.
RIT Library views this service as an adjunct to the
instructor in this new era of education. It is but one tool to assist
the professor in deterring and detecting plagiarism and educating students on
the proper use of intellectual property (extensive info on plagiarism
available at the library's
web page on plagiarism).
