Opportunities for SupportUniversity Press
The Library currently operates as the RIT Nexus for the collection, storage, and delivery of scholarly information in print or in digital form. A University Press will add to these functions, by acting as a center for the production and dissemination of information, especially scholarly work generated by RIT faculty.
A model for the University Press has already been established in the Library, mainly the RIT Cary Graphic Arts Press. Its present activities however are limited by funding constraints. A fully supported University Press will publish on subjects that draw not only from RIT's technological and scientific expertise, but also those that highlight diverse themes on the arts, literature, and the University's varied constituencies that make the culture at RIT vibrant.
