WHO
LOVES YA ? We do:)
At RIT
Library,
we exhibit our affection for our patrons
every day. By providing easy access to vital information on a
daily basis, and by working hard to provide assistance in many other ways,
we hope we continually convey our desire to be a user-friendly resource
you can depend upon.
We realize that there are many creative minds among our great RIT student
population, so we are providing an outlet for expression and inventive
writing. We've created a student writing contest we call
"Why I Love RIT Library". We don't mean to put words
in your mouth, but if you want a shot at a prize,
you may want to play along:)
Coinciding
with National Library Week (April 6 - 12),
RIT Library is sponsoring a creative writing contest, conducted entirely
online. Once you have carefully read and agreed to the Official
Rules, use the form on the "How To Enter"
page to submit your entry for consideration. A team of judges comprised
of RIT Library personnel will be reviewing all entries, and will select
the best of the bunch.
Prizes will be awarded for the judges' choices of the
Top 3 entries (see "THEME" Section below for details).

THEME:
The
theme is: "Why I Love RIT Library". The following are the three
formats for which prizes will be awarded:
1. An ESSAY (not to exceed 500 words)
- or -
2. A POEM (not to exceed 500 words)
- or -
3. A "Top Ten List" (ala
David Letterman; i.e. "Top 10 Things I Love about RIT Library")
One winner from each category will be awarded a prize. (i.e.
"Best Essay", "Best Poem", and "Best Top 10 List")
You can give your original work a Title, if you choose. And it doesn't
have to be titled "Why I Love RIT Library", as long as it illustrates
that theme. Entries can be sincere or humorous. If poems, they may rhyme
or choose not to rhyme. They can be sincere recollections of times you
received help at the Library. Or, they can just be fun in nature.
