Social Sciences Citation Index

The library has added Social Sciences Citation Index! You can start using this product immediately at this link http://wally.rit.edu/electronic/socsci/socsci.html

The new package adds:

Social Science Citation Index, 1991-present
ISI Proceedings, Science and Technology, 1991-present
Current Contents, all seven subject editions, plus two special collections
Medline and Endnote web (when available this fall)

The Social Sciences Citation Index® (SSCI®) and Social SciSearch® provide access to current and retrospective bibliographic information, author abstracts, and cited references found in over 1,700 of the world's leading scholarly social sciences journals covering more than 50 disciplines. They also cover individually selected, relevant items from approximately 3,300 of the world's leading science and technology journals.

There is a tutorial located at http://www.isinet.com/tutorials/wos6/ and I can help with getting you up to speed on the product.

Mintel

The library now subscribes to the market research database Mintel. Use this database to find consumer demographics and selected industry overviews on topics such as: Automotive, Beauty and Personal, Clothing and Fashion, Drink, Electronics, Food and Foodservice, Health and Medical, Health and Wellness, Household, Internet and Retailing, Leisure, Lifestyles, Retailing, Single Copy, Travel. To use this product create a profile using your RIT email address. This product is replacing Marketresearch.com Academic because it is more current and offers more industry data. Access to Mintel is restricted to current RIT faculty, staff and students only. If you would like training using this product contact Jennifer Freer at jlfwml@rit.edu.

Global Market Information Database

A new database is available through the RIT Libraries from Euromonitor. Global Market Information Database (GMID) is an online business information system providing business intelligence on countries, consumers and industries. It offers integrated access to statistics, market reports, company profiles and information sources. GMID includes more than 1 million country statistics, 205 country profiles, historic and forecast consumer lifestyle statistics, analysis of consumer lifestyles in 71 countries, market size data for more than 300 consumer products and 4500 market research reports.
